Biography Songbook
Tim Neumark
2007 /Neumark Music
58 pages
The Biography songbook is the companion book to Tim Neumark’s debut CD by the same name and contains eleven of the twelve compositions from that recording (“Palladio (Diamond Music)” is missing due to publishing rights). The notation is roomy and clear, and most of the pieces are fairly easy to play at an upper-intermediate level. A few of the pieces have some really high and really low ledger lines, so you might need to pencil in what those notes are, but that should be about the only difficulty most players will encounter. Most of the pieces have left hand eighth-note patterns that are easy to follow and count, and the right hand is made up of mostly single notes and intervals - not a lot of chords. The melodies are lovely, and pieces range from slow and leisurely to quite lively and upbeat - all of them are a pleasure to play. The book is available for download from www.timneumark. Recommended!
