Bio:

Unita is a singer/songwriter and award winning recording artist living in the greater Nashville, TN area (Murfreesboro). Often compared to Enya, Loreena Mckennitt and Sarah McLachlan, Unita’s ethereal, haunting voice, poetic lyrics and soul-stirring music soars with the artist’s own “voice”. She is featured on CDs by other notable artists including her husband and popular pianist/recording artist Joseph Akins (Keys to the Heart, Masterpeace, Spirit Touch), and new age pioneer recording artist Herb Ernst (Dreamflight Trilogy, Bringers of the Dawn, Angels & Ecstasy). She is also featured on an Original Film Soundtrack for Rabun Gap Films, a CD released in Australia by Blue Angel Publishing, and various music videos. Unita and Joseph’s record label, HeartSong Music, has released six albums of their original music.

Currently, Unita’s recently released album “Through the Veils 10th Anniversary Special Edition” is a finalist for Best Vocal Album in ZMR’s Annual Music Awards.
