Painted Echoes (2011)
Bio:
Tim has always had a great love for the piano. He can still remember his first lesson when he was twelve years old, when he learned all about those black and white keys and how to make them sing. He grew up listening to the music of George Winston, Michael Jones, and David Lanz. Even though he practiced mostly classical music for his lessons (which he enjoyed too), he really wanted to play pieces from these contemporary composers. When his teacher let him learn “Butterflies in Space” by Michael Jones, he was hooked! This was Tim’s first attempt at the “new age” genre, and he loved it. He knew that he wanted to do that too – to create music that emits story and emotion.
So he began to compose his own melodies. Tim has always loved to just sit down at the piano when it’s completely quiet, usually at night, to express his feelings through the keys. After serving a two-year church mission in Argentina, earning his B.A. in Music at ASU, and getting married, he finally decided to focus back on his own compositions. The end result of this is Painted Echoes, his debut solo piano album recorded at Piano Haven Studio and released at the end of 2011. His goal was to assemble a collection of emotional, vivid melodies that would evoke nostalgia and pastoral simplicity.
Tim lives in Arizona with his wife and daughter. He is currently working on sheet music for Painted Echoes and new compositions for his next album.
