Translucent (2009)
Bio:
Roth Herrlinger has played piano since he was a kid and has composed for twenty-five years. A classically trained pianist, he discovered at a young age that his musical interests spanned a broad range of styles, from Beethoven to Billy Joel, Rachmaninoff to Ray Charles, Gershwin to George Winston. Roth loves to travel the globe and is ever fascinated by the music of other cultures, bringing the flavors of many different traditions into his compositions. He draws on classical, pop, jazz and blues to weave a comfy melodic blanket.
Roth’s solo instrumental piano CD, Translucent, was released in 2010. A review by Wayne Lee, former music critic for the Washington (D.C.) Times, the Seattle Times, and Jazziz, said, “These are the mature compositions of a confident, spirited and emotionally honest songwriter…. These songs are technically proficient, stylistically consistent and firmly rooted in nature, family, and faith. They show an abundant appreciation for simple pleasures and authentic experiences…. This is music that will seep into your subconscious and nourish you with its sheer beauty.”
Roth collaborated with poet Devin Grace to create the album "Silence Whispers" in 2006. The CD is a compilation of 48 devotional poems and piano compositions, woven together into a rich tapestry of color and spirit.
Roth’s music has been featured on numerous radio and television programs and in film. To hear Roth’s music and find his performance schedule, visit www.pianoandflute.com.
