Bio:

Mike Howe’s debut album release from Real Music “Time Stands Still” marks the culmination of a long process of learning about writing, constructing and playing beautiful instrumental songs, and drawing from experiences from the natural world and the inspiration of people he has known.

Howe first appeared on Real Music’s Sacred Spa Series 2 albums “Contentment” and “Journey To Wellness” in October 2008, and was signed to the label later that year.  Since his album release he has also featured on the “Sleep” virtual album, also released by Real Music.

Howe’s influences span many genres of music, and the sound he has developed on the acoustic guitar, backed by keyboards, bass and drums, which he also plays, reflect folk traditions and conjure up emotive images of nature and landscapes.

This music is inspired by the natural world, people and places, and are metaphors for profound personal experiences and also the inspirational deeds and creativity of others.

Many of the songs have been “dreamed” out of images and sensations, both conscious and sub-conscious, gathering them from the distant and recent past, and present.

The initial response to the music has been extremely positive….

Suitably encouraged and gratified Howe is currently working on a large number of new songs for his next album which he hopes will reflect a growth and development in his style and will further enhance his growing reputation for writing simple, emotive and soothing songs that speak of a deep connection with land and with people.
