David Mauk is a composer/performer from northeastern Ohio, now residing and playing piano in Las Vegas. Born in September 1961, he began piano lessons at age 6 on a Baldwin Acrosonic Spinet piano and played in several Ohio rock bands from 1976 through 1992, and in the process learned to play all the brass instruments, rhythm guitar, bass and drums. In 1991, he found a copy of the out of print book, The Schillinger Method of Musical Composition in a used book store and took his composition skills to a new level. In 2000, he moved to Los Angeles, California before settling in Nevada in 2004.

David composed the official music for the international National Geographic "King Tut" and "Real Pirates" museum exhibits, and his music has been heard by seven million people in several venues (so far) including the Los Angeles County Museum of Art, the Ft. Lauderdale Museum of Art, the Field Museum in Chicago, the Franklin Institute in Philadelphia, the O2 in London, England and the Kunst Historisches Museum in Vienna, Austria. His Tut music has also been heard on CNN. Current events include a brand new King Tut exhibition playing nine American cities. The Tut audio tours feature David's music with a voice-overs by Dr. Zahi Hawass, Omar Sharif and Harrison Ford.
