Dreaming (2010)
Bio:
David Isaac writes for all instrument combinations in the classical music world, including solo violin, piano, and guitar to film music and music for large orchestra. Raymond Ryder is a classically trained pianist and well respected teacher of the instrument in Tucson, Arizona.
Mr. Isaac and Ryder recently collaborated on the CD, Dreaming: Piano Music Inspired by Timeless Poetry, to be released on August 15, 2010. Dreaming is a New Age Piano/Classical Piano crossover album that will be aired online and on college radio stations. The poems that inspired the music are included in the CD insert. David says about these poems, “The poems are intended to be read before each piece in performances, or the listener may read the poem silently as they hear the music.” The poems act as a mantra or meditation for the music, yielding an experience greater than the sum of its parts.
David often draws upon poetry and story as sources of inspiration for his work. David Isaac says about his music, “I also draw from everything that we all love in classical music: the grand expression, the epic proportions of the symphony orchestra, the intimate expressions, the passion and grandness.” Mr. Isaac’s works have been performed in Arizona and California by the Tucson Chamber Orchestra, Tucson Pops Orchestra, and members of the Tucson Symphony Orchestra and Los Angeles Philharmonic. His music has been played at numerous private concerts including venues such as the Beverly Wilshire Hotel and the California Club.
Raymond T. Ryder completed a doctorate in piano at the University of Arizona under Rex Woods with a Lecture-Recital and Document on “Russian Elements in Selected Piano Compositions of César Cui (1835-1918).” Dr. Ryder has a private teaching studio in Tucson and currently serves as President of the Arizona State Music Teachers Association and is a member of the American Guild of Organists. His accompanying activities have included nine summers on the accompanying staff at Interlochen Arts Camp in Michigan, three seasons accompanying the Tucson Masterworks Choral, and more recently, the Arizona Choral Society.
The response to the pre-release of the CD, Dreaming, has been fantastic. David says, “The CDs sold really well at concerts. Several people enjoyed the music so much that they contacted me to buy more for friends and family.” Sheet music and free downloads of certain tracks will be available on David’s website, www.DavidiMusic.com.
