Solo Piano For Love, Peace, and Mermaids - Sheet Music for Solo Piano is the companion songbook to Louis Landon’s 2010 CD release by the same name. These note-for-note scores were transcribed by John Zechiel and edited by myself, so I can confidently say that the accuracy is excellent. The notation is roomy for easier reading and includes expression markings and pedaling suggestions. The music is printed on a substantial bright white paper stock (a little lighter weight than earlier books for easier page turns) with clean, crisp engraving; and the book is spiral-bound. The music is not terribly difficult, with a range from late-intermediate to early-advanced playing levels. There are a few chords with a reach of more than an octave, but not many. Most of timing is fairly easy, with “Light Sea” being the most difficult of the pieces. Pianists of all ages and good playing skills will find much to enjoy about this book.
